Tropical Storm Flossie

HOUSTON – Tropical Storm Flossie emerged Thursday morning in the Atlantic, 1000 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California. Moving West at a steady 16 mph, Flossie has sustained wind speeds of 40 mph.  Though there is a slight chance of Flossie becoming a Category 1 hurricane, it currently poses no threat to land and is likely to weaken over the weekend as it nears Hawaii.
